Since supplying the BBC with its entire London 2012 post facility in Stratford, Hyperactive’s reputation for delivering complex post-production projects has grown. Technical Director Roger Wedlake was the driving force behind that success, and he continues to oversee the company’s support of high-profile broadcast events.
Sponsored at university by the MoD, Roger has an MA in Engineering from Cambridge. Having then trained at the BBC, Roger travelled extensively for BBC TV News working as a VT Editor. His move to Finepoint in 1989 brought considerable outside broadcast experience, and whilst he was its Chief Engineer, the company’s broadcast dry hire business grew threefold, driven by a reputation for technical excellence.
Roger joined Hyperactive in 2008, bringing with him a deep understanding of tapeless post-production for both film and TV. He has been instrumental in winning and fulfilling facilities contracts for many well-known prime-time TV shows, sporting events, feature films and major outside broadcasts.
“Roger leads a dedicated, hard-working and professional engineering team and I am immensely grateful for the support that he and his colleagues have provided since we started this project.”
