Project Casestudy:
The Ashes 2009
About The Ashes 2009:
The hotly-anticipated 2009 Ashes series against Australia began in Cardiff on 8th July and ran through to the fifth test at the Oval in August.
Job Overview:
The requirement was to provide a solution to edit segments for the daily highlights programmes that was flexible and powerful yet not so complex that it required a specialist technician to guarantee it. Hyperactive worked with the client to perfect a workflow which included transferring clips from EVS to Avid, ingesting archive from tape and transfering finished edits back to EVS for transmission. An added complication was that archive tapes had to be Dolby E encoded and decoded.
Hyperactive helped with a "dry-run" of the set up on a match prior to the first test so that the crew were familiar with the workflow. For the actual test coverage there was the added reassurance that of Hyperactive's 24/7 telephone support.
