90 Years after Julias Ceaser declares Britain a lost cause and ceases his assault on the small island, the Romans are back to claim what they believe is rightfully theirs. But before they can rule the island they’ll have to deal with its crazy inhabitants, inhabitants such as ‘wild warrior women and powerful druids who can channel the powerful forces of the underworld’
In a world where fantasy television is ruled by shows like Game of Thrones, Britannia feels like a breath of fresh air. Never taking itself too seriously, always supplying ample amounts of drama and fresh storytelling Britannia is a stand out mini-series that will keep viewers gripped throughout.
Britannia was written and created by renowned writer, Jez Butterworth (Spectre, Black Mass and Edge of Tomorrow). The show is set in 43AD and takes part over 9 episodes. It originally aired on Sky Atlantic on January 18th 2018.
Britannia were one of the first productions to be lucky enough to work in Hyperactive Broadcasts new facilities house in the heart of Soho, 65-66 Frith Street. The building was home to the Britannia post production team for several months. The team were placed on the same floor of the five storey building, allowing them to work closely and efficiently with little interruption.
The buildings main ethos is to create a home away from home for editors, visual effects artists and post production teams. Hyperactive wanted to mould a space where creatives could focus on exactly that, being creative, so everything else is taken care of, from fresh coffee delivered straight to their rooms to some of Hyperactive Broadcasts top engineers being on hand in the building to deal with any technical issues immediately.
‘I was delighted to be the first tenant at Hyperactive’s new Frith Street location. Editing space needs to be practical, flexible and efficient but it also needs to be home. Hyperactive Frith Street is all that. The building is well organized and rooms can be grouped as needed but there’s also space where a busy team can relax. The location is great, close to everyone we work with in Soho and just steps off Soho Square. Services are exactly that, a knowledgeable engineering staff that is quick to respond and a client care team that is always ready to help out. It was a real pleasure to find a new home away from home at Hyperactive’
