Lambing Live is returning to BBC TWO and BBC HD with a brand new series beginning Monday 4th April at 8.30pm. Last Spring, Kate Humble and Adam Henson tested their shepherding skills on a lowland farm in Wales, this time the life and death drama of lambing is heading for the hills in Cumbria. There’s a new farm and a new family – the Marstons – three generations who’ve made their lives in the remote and sometimes harsh world of hill farming. Here, much of the lambing is done outdoors and flocks are brought down to the ‘in bye’ land near the farmhouse to lamb under the shepherd’s watchful eye. It’s a risky business and Lambing Live will be right at the heart of the action with live nightly updates
Job Overview:You can be sure that the lambs will not be born on cue to fit the TV schedule, in fact anything could happen, and to bring it to the TV audience a reliable fast turn-around editing installation is needed. So we've set up on the farm in Cumbria with our OB partners and built four Avid edit suites integrated with EVS for transmission. It's a fully tapeless workflow right through from shooting on flash memory cards to streaming OB coverage to Avid storage for the highlights programme.
