BBC Electric Proms 2009 From the Roundhouse in Camden the 2009 BBC Electric Proms featured Robbie Williams, Dizzee Rascal, Doves, Dame Shirley Bassey and Smokey Robinson. Television coverage was transmitted throughout the week on BBC HD and BBC Two. Performance highlights were available through the "Red Button". For this prestigious HD production getting the very best picture quality was one of the BBC's top priorities. Having now installed Avid - EVS integrated editing at several major events during 2009, Hyperactive's next challenge was to take the HD picture quality a step higher. To this end we upped the DnxHD bit rate from 120M/bits to 185M/bits per second. That's more of a challenge than it might at first sound as it stretches storage and network bandwidths to their limits. We rose to the challenge and Hyperactive's EVS - Avid specialists worked with the BBC to install a solution which delivered superb quality as well as offering full media management facilities to delight the production staff. 4x EVS XT(2) HD Production Server
