24th June 2010 Talking the Talk
We’re doing a lot of talking this year and we’re getting some great feedback. From tweeting to blogging, Facebook posts to project case studies and our monthly newsletter. If you’re not already involved, then we invite you to logon, signup and follow us.

Our Facebook page provides period news and information on projects with photos uploaded from our guys on the ground, while our tweets provide more regular updates as things happen, links to interesting sites and companies and updates on new projects and kit. Our blog provides a relaxed space to not only impart breaking news on new purchases, serious news about Hyperactive in general, but also to offer a less formal way to deliver insights into bazar happening, comic events and a look at the wonderful world of hyperactive.

Finally, our newsletter combines a little bit of all of these, adding to it with some additional information and focus projects and equipment. A great way to stay connected. Whatever your preference, come and join and lets start discussing what matter to you.

23rd June 2010 Tweeteriffic!
Yes, that’s what we’ve been told and with no pun intended, we’ve had some fantastic feedback from our adoption of twitter and the regular updates from our guys on the ground. From Rob and Joe recently in South Africa, Tom in Glastonbury, our logistics team and our guys in the office… including James! If you're not already a member or just not a follower yet, then logon, signup and follow us. It’s not all business and it's certainly not a minute by minute account of what we’re having for lunch. It's just an interesting, eclectic mix of news, information, gossip, insight and useful links to things we’re working on, people we’re working with and things we love.

1st June 2009 If I were a bag of crisps, I'd be ready salted

Despite this rather unflattering self proclamation of being 'Ready Salted', we hope you’ll join us in welcoming Peter Hammond to the hire desk.

With the recession still hanging around and many companies cutting back, we seem to be getting busier and busier, which is of course great news and to ensure we continue to exceed our client expectations we’re not just investing in equipment, but the people behind it. As the driving force behind our business, their relentless passion and commitment to the job make us who we are.

As an experienced co-ordinator Peter comes to us with many years previous hire desk experience for a major events company and has already started to make his mark here. When he’s not admiring architecture or studying its history in places such as Rome, Prague and Portigal you’ll probably find him snowboarding on the ski slopes, playing a spot of cricket or gearing up for the motor racing on the box.

All in all, a great new member of the team. Welcome Pete!

10th November 2008 Wedlake Joins Hyperactive, Restructure includes new MD & Operations Director,£2 m+ investment in 2009.
Broadcast Rental Company Hyperactive Broadcast Ltd has recruited Roger Wedlake as Technical Director with effect from 10th November. Roger joins Hyperactive after 19 years with hire company Finepoint Broadcast, where he was Chief Engineer.

Wedlake’s appointment is part of a major re-structure and investment programme at Hyperactive. Long-term Hyperactive managers James Gander and Richard Salter take up new positions, James becoming Managing Director and Richard Operations Director. Owners Bob Griffiths & Mike Jopp still plan to play an active role in the business.

2009 is going to be an interesting year, and we believe that it’s an excellent time for the expansion of our rental business, as capital purchase budgets shrink” says Griffiths. “Our Avid and ProTools department continues to grow, and with Roger Wedlake joining us we intend to invest strongly in Broadcast Equipment in 2009, indeed, we anticipate a spend well in excess of £2million”.

Hyperactive provided equipment and technical support at the Olympics in Beijing for several major Broadcasters including the BBC, and is the largest UK supplier of Avid systems to the Film and Television Industry.
